At Nest Academy, Every Child’s Learning Journey is Unique

At Nest Academy, we believe that no two learners are the same—and their education shouldn’t be either. Our personalized approach nurtures curiosity, builds strong academic foundations, and empowers each child to grow at their own pace.

We combine engaging tools with hands-on experiences to make learning both effective and exciting. With programs like Lexia Core5, PowerUp and K-5 we support individualized reading progress through interactive lessons that meet each student where they are.

In math, we use Khan Academy and Math Mammoth to introduce key concepts through fun, bite-sized modules that encourage confidence and independence and an array of games and activities to keep learning varied and interesting.

Well-Rounded Learning, Every Step of the Way

Our curriculum grows with your child—providing the right level of challenge and support at every stage.

Grades K–3: Foundations for Curiosity

  • In social studies, children in K use the first year at Nest to learn about themselves and their community, basic geography, important American holidays and symbols, and simple concepts of citizenship and historical figures. In grades 1-3 they begin to explore Early Times in History—learning about people, places, and cultures that shaped our world.

  • In science, students are introduced to a broad range of topics, laying a strong foundation in life, physical, and Earth sciences through inquiry and discovery.

  • Through our creative and playful art appreciation program, the children get a broad introduction to art

  • techniques and styles.

  • For modern language we focus on Spanish and build our skills weekly using a combination of hands on activities and AI tutoring.

  • Our exciting and hands on projects mean that our students are exposed to a variety of subjects - combining discussion, creation and exploration. We take what we have learnt and take regular field trips to bring our knowledge to life.

  • Each day we spend around 20 minutes reading for pleasure! This time gives the children the opportunity to practice their reading with an adult or older mentor student, work their way through a chapter book that is appropriate for their reading level or just flick though a beautiful picture book.

Grades 4–6: Expanding Understanding

  • Our social studies curriculum dives into Middle Times in History, blending history, geography, and literature to create a rich understanding of the past and how it connects to the present.

  • In science, students explore biology and chemistry in grades 4–5. physics in grade 6, and then deepen these skills as they move into the middle school years.

  • Our Entrepreneurship Program teaches students real-world skills —guiding them to develop business ideas, understand core concepts like problem-solving, marketing, and money management, and build confidence as young entrepreneurs

  • In art appreciation the students continue to explore different techniques and styles as well as learn more about famous artist and art from around the world.

  • For modern language learning we focus on Spanish! Our personalized program means that you can learn at the level you are at, chatting with your AI tutor and progressing at your own pace.

  • During the 25 minutes set aside daily for reading, the students are given the opportunity to read, purely for pleasure. They can choose to build book clubs or read aloud to each other, mentor a younger student or simply curl up on the sofa with a book by their favorite author.

Personalized Learning that Inspires Confidence

At Nest Academy, we tailor each student’s learning experience to their needs, interests, and pace. This allows children to master concepts deeply, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning—without the pressure of a one-size-fits-all approach.

When learning feels personal, it becomes powerful.

Outdoor classroom and field trips

At Nest Academy Alpharetta, we believe the world is the best classroom!

That’s why we prioritize outdoor learning and real-world experiences as a key part of our curriculum. Our students spend plenty of time outside, exploring the surrounding area and connecting what they learn in the classroom to the world around them.

In 2024/25 , our learners ventured to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, explored the Michael C. Carlos Museum, and had a thought-provoking visit to the King Center, each deepening their understanding of history, nature, and culture. These field trips make learning not only relevant but also exciting, fostering a sense of curiosity and exploration.

In addition to our enriching excursions, every Thursday, is spent outside in nature. Whether it’s a nature walk, a visit to a local park, or simply engaging in outdoor activities, our students are inspired to discover, learn, and grow in an environment that sparks their imagination.
